Maintenance Checklist

• Visually inspect for refrigerant leaks

• Inspect high and low pressure switches to ensure safety                          

• Check compressor and motor amps to reduce chance of damage                                 

• Verify voltage and amperage draw to ensure smooth operation                                    

• Check condenser fan motor and lubricate as needed

• Clean condenser coil for maximum efficiency and polish painted surfaces

• Check and clear condensate drain of obstructions

• Inspect furnace and coil for possible blockage

• Inspect outdoor disconnect

• Check start and run capacitors

• Check fan and inspect fan blades for cracks

• Check and adjust A/C for proper refrigerant levels 

• Calibrate/check batteries on thermostat if needed

• Change or clean filters                                  

• Check all safety controls

• Inspect wiring and tighten all electrical connections

• Verify temperature difference across the indoor coil  

• Check starting capabilities and proper system operation for maximum efficiency

• Oil indoor blower, check for wheel balance and belt condition (if applicable)

• Check and adjust air flow where needed for maximum room comfort

•  Check condition of fuse/breakers to prevent possibility of fire

• Visually inspect heat exchanger for stress or cracks

• Vacuum and clean burners and furnace controls

• Adjust pilot for flame impingement; position as needed

• Check and adjust gas manifold pressure as needed

• Check for proper combustion air

• Check for gas leaks

• Check each burner for flame efficiency

•  Check flue pipe and piping for proper venting

• Check proper operation of defrost cycle (heat pump only)

• Check proper operation of auxiliary heat (heat pump only)

• Check and adjust H/P for proper refrigerant levels

• Test batteries of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

• Calibrate/check batteries on thermostat if needed
